A shawl (from Persian: شال shāl, which may be from Hindi: दुशाला duśālā) is an Indian simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head.

Traditionally woven with natural wool, every shawl provides a means for a community to come together season after season to weave value that with the right material care, lasts generations. Each woolen shawl speaks for everybody involved including the shepherds, herders, spinners, dyers, weavers, and their communities.
