Made with cotton linter and beechwood, both of our botanical silk varieties serve as ecologically wise alternatives to traditional and synthetic silks.
HEAVYWEIGHT BOTANICAL SILK (100% BEMBERG) Bemberg is a regenerated bio-fiber made from wasted cotton linter - the short, downy material that enfolds and protects the cottonseed. The result of ecologically sustainable proprietary technology from Asahi Kasei, Japan, the Bemberg fiber used in our products, is woven and herbal-dyed into a smooth and elegant fabric in Ahmedabad, and handmade into our versatile garments in New Delhi. A natural material, the Bemberg fiber is also biodegradable and compostable, decomposed by living organisms, naturally breaking down after disposal, returning safely to the soil.
LIGHTWEIGHT BOTANICAL SILK (BEMBERG & LENZING MODAL BLEND) 60% Cupro and 40% Modal fiber blended to create a luxurious lightweight, silk-like textile. Lenzing Modal is a regenerated fiber utilizing cellulose from sustainable Beech tree forests. Modal is not only biodegradable and eco-friendly, but it is also one of the purest forms of cellulose. It's excellent for the skin and enriches every garment with fluidity, luster, drape, and comfort.
We donate profits from the sale of every product below to local community-powered funds and relief initiatives in Ahmedabad, and New Delhi. Click here to learn more.
